The regional energy agency of Upper Austria (OÖ Energiesparverband, ESV), is actively training planers, installers and other relevant professionals in the buildings sector on heat pump technologies. In the past few months, 3 events have reached around 170 key stakeholders.

On 15-16 September, the “International large-scale heat pump congress” took place in Linz/Austria with 150 participants, mostly manufacturers, planners and public bodies. The event was organised by the Austrian Heat Pump Association (Wärmepumpe Austria) for the DACH region (Germany/Austria/Switzerland). ESV held a session on large-scale heat pump technologies for industry that presented, among others, good practice examples of already implemented and economically feasible applications in Upper Austrian companies.

On 11 November 2021, a half-day training course on climate friendly heating systems for residential systems took place in the ESV’s Energy Academy. The training presented innovative solutions for new builds and refurbishments of single and multi-family homes, with a focus on heat pumps. It also informed about available subsidies. 16 highly interested participants attended the training, including planers, installers, property developers, providers of building technology, architects, and energy advisers.

A technical training and certification programme on planning, installing and servicing heat pumps in single-family homes is currently taking place in Upper Austria. It is targeted at installers, planners, energy advisors, customer service technicians, building technology providers and property developers. The 5-day theoretical training by technical experts is supplemented with hand-on experience gained through site visits. It is the second time this programme is offered in Upper Austria by ESV, in cooperation with the Austrian Heat Pump Association and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). The first edition was held in November-December 2020.

Overall, these events are contributing to increasing skills, awareness and demand for efficient heat pump solutions among key stakeholders. Further events will be held in the coming months. For more information: www.energiesparverband.at
